The Hungarian spelling does not make a difference between the open "e" and the half-close "ë" phoneme still to be found in some dialects, because the standard pelling is based on a dialect that does not contain the phoneme "ë".
The ë-marker is a special text editor also handling formatted texts, which automatically marks close "ë" phonemes (with the possibility of a subsequent half-manual correction).
The program uses formatted texts in rtf format.
In case of ambiguous words the most probable version is chosen, but the decision can always be easily overrided.
